“Great Hosts Lester and Naty”

Lester & Naty did not only provide us with fantastic accommodation and great food, but also with the help and advice to make our trip to Remedois and this part of Cuba a very pleasurable one that will last long in the memory.
From the first mijito to, arranging a ride with friends in an old Chevy to the beach on the nearby islands, to cigars sheared after dinner and another arranged ride back to Havana for the same price as the bus.
All this and I haven't even touched on the actually accommodation,which is by the way very comfortable, but not what I remember about this place, but more the friendship you feel from Lester and his wife Naty.

“Lester and Naty are just the best hosts”

Our room

Lester and Naty were wonderful and friendly hosts. Our room was extremely large and two double beds and a private bathroom. We just adored Remedios and were so sad we only had one night there. Our hosts organised a friend to take us by car to the nearby sugar factory and museum which was fascinating and to on to Caibarien. We were the only guests that night, although there are two rooms, but the advantage of this was that we had more time to talk with Naty and Lester on their comfortable terrace and gained an interesting insight into Cuban life. We had our meals at the Casa and they were fantastic with huge portions and really well prepared and cooked. (Choose Lester’s Fish if you stay!)

“A jewel in cuba”

Remedios is the true charming Cuba we were looking for, at last.
And meeting Lester & Naty, owners of the Hostal Buen Viaje was a surprise in the surprise.
Their Hostal (two rooms) has been renewed with great taste.
Lester & Naty are very charming and at your disposal (even the sun ombrella, if requested), although not intrusive at all.
The food is exquisite and one step beyond everything else we ate.
Highly advisable for a holiday focused on relax

Lester and Naty are wonderful hosts who delight you with their genuinely warm welcome.Their casa is a place of quiet peace and relaxation.The food,which they serve with such attention to detail, is simply delicious.
Lester goes out of his way to make sure that all your needs are met and then some.
We stayed in five different casas particulares and this one was the best.

“Lester and Naty made my trip to Cuba a fantastic experience”

I can't overstress how happy I am that I lucked into reserving at Buen Viaje for my first night in Cuba. Not only was it a nice Casa, Lester and Naty made me feel truly welcome in their family home. They are working hard to grow their business, and have big plans in the works for the gardens and another room.

When Lester found out I had no specific plans for where to stay, he gave me excellent suggestions and then booked me into a fantastic series of casas for the rest of the trip. All of his suggestions were excellent, and the people I met through Lester's introductions were all uniformly inspiring and hospitable.

In retrospect, I wish I'd spent more time in Remedios. It's a beautiful little town, with many interesting landscapes nearby. If you're thinking of visiting Planet Cuba, Hostal Buen Viaje is an excellent place to get oriented, and Lester and Naty (and family) are the most gracious of hosts.

“A truly charming place to stay--fantastic hosts & atmosphere!”

If you want a mellow place to chill, and to stay with some truly gracious and wonderful hosts, then Remedios is the place and Buen Viaje is the Casa. Naty and Lester are truly lovely people who go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. Both of them are excellent chefs and eating their breakfasts and dinners were some of the finest meals we had during our three weeks in Cuba. Lester and Naty are both from the area and have a great perspective on local history and culture, not to mention a fabulous sense of humour! We'll forever remember our stay at Buen Viaje and feel that we have some life-long friends in Lester and Naty.
